PUSH is Forming Local Action Groups in PA

The campaign to pass the Family & Business Health Security Act [SB400/HB1660] by the Pennsylvania Legislature has recently made some significant gains:

  • Municipalities are in crisis due to exploding employee and retiree health care costs. Under the legislation, employers pay 10% of payroll. Pittsburgh, for example, would save $19 - $21 million a year over the next five years. That’s why a growing number of Mayors and Councils are endorsing the bill.
  • An Economic Impact Study to compare costs of the current system with a single payer program, publicly funded and privately run, is under serious consideration by members of both parties in the state Legislature.
  • PUSH, the local chapter of Health Care for All PA, is forming action groups in PA Senatorial districts. Free Soup and Bread gatherings will be held on:
Wed, May 6, 6:30 - 8:00 PM Thurs, May 7, 7:00 - 8:30 PM
