Call for Volunteers for the Denis Theatre

Dear Denis Theatre Supporter, We are back to full speed and have many activities planned for this summer, and WE NEED YOUR HELP to make them happen! If you have some time to spare we hope you’ll join us for one or more of these volunteer opportunities. Thanks for your past support, and we look forward to seeing you this summer.

Help with theater cleanups:

Help us clean up the theater on June 6 or June 13. We will be primarily removing seats from the auditoriums and cleaning them up to be resold. No experience is necessary and we need you if you are strong (you can lift those heavy seats for us) or not-so-strong (you can clean seats, remove bolts and do lots of other things.)

Be an ambassador for the Denis Theatre:

Help us "work the table" at First Fridays, Farmers Market Saturdays, July 4th at the Park and other community events! Engage passers-by in conversation about the project, encourage them to register for email updates, hand out literature, answer questions and sell merchandise. If you've never done it, it's a great way to get energized all over again as you see the community enthusiasm for the project. If you’re a newcomer we'll team you up with an experienced volunteer for perfect on-the-job training.

Help out at Last Saturday Cinema:

This brand new outdoor summer film series can only work if we have lots of help! We need folks to help set up chairs and equipment, serve as ushers, work at the concession stand and break down equipment when it’s all over. We also need help in the weeks ahead of time to hang posters and put together the program.

Don't forget to write the Last Saturday Cinema dates on your calendar. Plan to come and bring a friend!

“Bringing Up Baby,” June 27

“The Bread, My Sweet,” July 25

“Mad Hot Ballroom,” August 29

All three will be shown at Parse Pavilion, the covered portion of Parse Way behind the theater. The movies start at 9 p.m. and include surprise special events. Comfortable seating is provided. The Denis Theatre Foundation is a volunteer effort to revive Mt. Lebanon's classic movie theater for films, performance and community events as part of a vibrant business district.
